This customer is in the business of printing and distributing important documentation and have a contracted turn round of 3 days. As part of their commitment to their customers, and potential future customers they decided to install a standby generator to protect against a mains power failure. We were awarded the contract to design, project manage, supply, install, and maintain the 350kVA generator.

There was no possibility of siting the generator outside the building, so the decision was made to position it within the warehouse. The area chosen was adjacent to the goods inwards door under the mezzanine floor with the offices immediately above it. The generator was to be housed in a specially designed block room.

Once the generator and fuel tank had been delivered and positioned, the cabling between the main incomer room and the generator was fitted, and the exhaust pipe was installed. Once this was completed, the block room was built around the equipment, and this was followed by the installation of the ducting and air attenuators. Finally, the generator was connected up to the mains and tested to the customers satisfaction.
